Mission Impossible 8: Rogue Plushies, second place winners
Welcome to the DACS team page for the 2017 University of British Columbia Engineering Physics robot design competition, Mission Impossible 8: Rouge Plushies! Our objective was to design a robot capable of following a track through several obstacles and rescuing bath toys resting in a tub of water. Once extracted from the tub, the bath toys had to be loaded into a container and sent down a zipline to safety.

Check out the Github and Onshape pages for our second place finishing robot below.
TEAM
Aidan Wilson
I designed and fabricated some of the electrical components as well as designed and built the zipline mechanism. I also did a lot of the mechanical and electrical integration that allowed the many aspects of our robot to function properly.
Chris Wilson
I did the mechanical design and fabrication of the chassis and the arm, which had three degrees of freedom. I also worked on the integration of components into the final assembly and introduced ideas for how to check for errors during a run.
Daymon Krotez
I designed the scissor lift and drive mechanism for the arm and wrote the majority of the control code for the robot, including methods to operate our complex arm accurately and reliably.
Sonny Cervienka
I was responsible for the mechanical design of the claw, the design and fabrication of many of the electrical components, and for creating the TINAH menu that allowed us to change operating parameters on the fly.
